This may or may not have been me the past two months:
And yes, there is a lot of symbolism in this picture.
I've been working real hard the past two months or so on a big commission. How big? Real big. So big that I don't feel comfortable talking about it because I signed some non-disclosure documents. Regardless, it has been a big step in my career and when the fruits of my labors are published and made available for public viewing, I will let you know.
Maybe.
Obviously, this big commission has kept me heavily occupied, mixed in with the semester's finals in mid-April, and a trip home to help out with family matters. I have not had much creative time to myself. On top of that, it's been a transitionary time in my life. My parents are selling their house, the one that I finished high school in, and downsizing to a small townhouse. I don't really know if I'll ever have the option of staying with them after this summer, and I certainly will never be able to in a house that I grew up in. So that's been on my mind, along with buying my first car, facing another sister's wedding, trying to build up relationships with my younger siblings while I still can (you know, before we all split up forever), helping my dad after rotator cuff surgery, and going through the past 2.5 decades worth of my stuff in storage and deciding what to keep and what to throw away.
BUT
By this weekend, I will be back in Provo and I will have a raging need for creative expression and the time to do it in. So in summary, - - - Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been going through a lot. But I will be back in action soon, and stronger than ever!
Love,
Kendall, the Brave Little Illustrator
